Always feeling on vacation, as soon as you cross the threshold of the house. Impossible? Not for the architect and interior designer Georgios Kontaxakis. Through the complete renovation of an apartment in Chania, the jewel city of the island Crete, he brings an oasis of relaxation and comfort into this home. The owners wanted “a home where you can feel as if you were on vacation every day”, well integrated into the landscape. A refined, welcoming and relaxing home, designed mainly for moments of conviviality with friends.
Thanks to the exceptional location, right in front of the Mediterranean Sea, the final result is truly surprising. In this 70 square meter apartment, the architect’s goal was to create a minimalist but comfortable space. Georgios Kontaxakis made extensive use of neutral colors and clean lines, so that the furniture did not distract attention from the blue sky and the sea on the horizon.
Particularly fascinating is the optical effect that we wanted to recreate with the Tecnografica “Malindi Dream” wallpaper from the Landscapes collection. The color variant chosen is Blue, with colors that reflect the neutral tones of the furniture, but also the shades of blue, which facilitate relaxation, calm and concentration. From the locality of the same name in Kenya, “Malindi Dream” takes up the heavenly shades of the ocean and reinterprets them on an abstract note. A single horizon is thus created, between the enchanting panorama beyond the terrace and the wallpaper which decorates the living room. Tecnografica’s Landscapes allows the gaze to travel far away, through a thousand different landscapes.
In the design of this private residence, the architect opted for the TNT finish. With a spatula effect, the non-woven wallpaper is one of Tecnografica’s most technical finishes and is perfect for enhancing the bright colors and the finest details.
All the subjects of Landscapes are fully customizable according to the needs of each individual project.
