Brusa Nerini, architecture studio in Ferrara (Italy), realized di restyling of a living room in a private residence. The owners wanted to add a fireplace to the room and to consequently adapt the furniture to the new style.
The architects faced some obstacles, such as existing furnishing elements: for example, the dark floor and the presence of a single window along the perimeter of the room. In order to maintain and enhance these elements, the key concept for this project was “Contrast”.
The fireplace, with its contemporary shape and its black and whote tones, influenced the design of the whole living room, including the custom furniture. In order to lighten the color contrast, architects Brusa and Nerini chose the wallpaper “Ginko” (Japandi collection; color variant: Light). The warm and golden shades of the leaves elegantly recall an oriental mood, making the atmosphere cozy and pleasant.
