“Stairs are always fundamental sculptural elements, which improve the quality of an interior”.
These are the words of the architect and interior designer Ghazal Khaksari who describes the project of a living room in Monza (Italy). The central element of the whole environment is the cantilevered stairs leading to the upper floor.
The living area, characterized by its large spaces, includes both a living room and a dining room. In addition, there is also a small relaxation corner surrounding a wood stove. The high ceilings and large windows overlooking the city make it airy and full of light. The architect opted for a contemporary style with natural wood for the floors, black metal profiles for the fixtures and lighting and neutral colors for the rest of the furniture.
To accentuate the space of this environment, Ghazal Khaksari chose the wallpaper “Eleonoire“, in its Concrete color variant. The portrait of a woman, painted in watercolor by Giovanna Casotto for the Art Collections, runs along the entire height of the main wall, giving a touch of color to the room. Fascinated by the portraits of this artist, the architect decided to include another design signed by Giovanna Casotto, this time in the form of a painting. The “Rossana” design produced on a panel placed against the wall adds a further decorative element.
