Natalia Ivanova, interior designer and owner of OVA Design Studio, was in charge of the interior design of a recently renovated apartment in Eixample, the central district of Barcelona (Spain). The interior designer wanted to capture the essence of the building and enhance it through its interiors.
The style that most characterizes the apartment is the Modern Classic, a perfect balance of traditional and modern elements, which enables to give the house a contemporary look without giving up the past. Natalia Ivanova therefore decided to keep some classic pieces of furniture, such as doors and wardrobes, combining them with more modern and functional furniture. Among the most current elements that the interior designer decided to include, we find Tecnografica’s wallpaper in the master bedroom and in the study.
The master bedroom is narrow, with very high ceilings, original to the building. To make the most of it, Natalia Ivanova suggested the use of wallpaper with vertical motifs, which would further streamline the walls and broaden the perception of space. The choice of graphics therefore fell on “Pensiero Naturale” by Giorgia Beltrami (Art Collections). The rural landscape on a watercolor background provides the environment with a soft atmosphere and suitable for the chosen style. This particular design was not chosen only for the perspective game: the trees in the drawing, in fact, reminded the owner of a place from his childhood, giving greater value to the choice and a personal touch to the house.
The other room decorated with wallpaper is the second bedroom of the house, which has been converted into an office. Here as well, the modern- classic style is noticeable – the built-in wardrobe and the desk follow classic lines; the sofa and wallpaper, a more modern touch. The room is elegant and includes a tropical accent with the tropical wallapper “Polly”, collezione I Decorativi. Present among the most popular Tecnografica designs, “Polly” gives an unexpected freshness to the room with its exotic plants and colorful parrots.
